Taking a Course For Category A1
Taking a course for category A1 is a vital step in getting your licence. It is not the only step. You also have to pass a test in the practical area.

Theoretical lessons
Sigma Aerospace College provides courses that cover all the necessary knowledge and training required to obtain an air pilot's license. These include the MEA Aeroskills Training package and Part 66 module assessments. They also meet the standards for licensing by the European Union. However practical training is not included in these courses. Students are able to complete the training in a practical manner using RPL.
The theoretical lessons are the most important part of the course for category A1. To be eligible for the test on theory you must take 12 90-minute theory lessons. However, the amount of these classes could be less based on your progress in learning.
The theoretical lessons concentrate on the considerations of audience, purpose and stylistic decisions for writing texts. The lessons also teach you how to distinguish between facts, opinions and judgments, and how to improve your ability to think both deductively and inductively. You will also learn how to critically evaluate ideas, critique and promote them.
Practical lessons
The course for category A1 prepares the student for a motorcycle practical test. This course is designed for students who wish to ride mopeds or small motorbikes with the maximum capacity of 125cc. The lessons in the practical portion include theory and practice of basic riding skills. The duration of the course is four hours minimum. Students wishing to pass the test should have at minimum 9 hours of instruction with an instructor.
The practical lessons in the course for category A1 are divided into several sections. The first is a theoretical lesson on the fundamental rules of driving. The second is a practical instruction on the road, where the student practices the maneuvers which will be tested in the Mod 1 test. The final lesson is the test itself and lasts for about 15 minutes. During the test, the student will be asked to perform various manoeuvres on Federal or country roads. The student will also have to complete a series of special rides, such as driving at dawn, during rain, or at night.
In addition to the theoretical and practical lessons students must also pass a written examination. This exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. The test must be successfully completed with at least 41 points. The test isn't difficult however it can make students nervous. Students must practice as often as they can to feel more confident.
After the practical course is completed students can take the Mod 1 test to receive the permit to drive motorbikes of category A1. This permit permits the driver to ride on public roads and transport passengers. The permit must be sought from the Strassenverkehrsamt. The process differs from canton to canton, but typically takes some days or weeks to receive the permit.

Theory test
If you are looking to obtain a category A1 licence, you must pass a test in theory before you can begin your practical training. The theory test comprises 40 questions, of which 10 concern road safety. The test is 30 minutes long and you can only make five mistakes.
You can prepare for the test by conducting practice tests or by using a study book. There are also online courses and programmes that can help you master the required information. These study materials do not contain the same type of questions as the theory test but they cover the same topics. If you suffer from hearing loss or vision impairment, you can have an interpreter assist you during the test. To prove your disability, you must present a valid certificate signed by an expert. You must also provide the evidence of a healthcare professional stating the medical reasons that make you eligible for an extended answer time in the multiple-choice questions section of the theory test.

Practical test
